DHEA for Peri-Menopause

Caution about using DHEA for peri-menopause symptoms….

In my opinion, and from my own research, I feel women should not ever take over 25 mg of dhea unless they are, for some reason I don’t know about, evaluated and thought to need it.

I think it is typically unsafe to take more than that. Nor do I feel women who are not peri-menopausal or menopausal should take dhea at all.

Also, those with a history of estogen-dominant cancer should carefully review the warnings on that situation before taking dhea at any dose.Having said that, I started with only 10 mg and it was still too much.

How do I know?  I ended up with jittery nerves and the start of my period again after I thought that was over.  Cramps, pms, the whole thing.

I did well with only 10 mg every 3 days but any more frequently, I got a little too much of an energy burst to be comfortable.

So, be careful with dhea.  One last note….be sure you use only PURE DHEA, in micronized form.  The micronization is important for effective results.
