Did you catch Oprah today?  Dr. Oz had some really basic, easy tips for preventing osteoporosis. That’s one of the things I like about him. He narrows it down to a few things that are easy to remember. However, keep in mind that there’s a lot more you can do for your bones. Research, get involved in your own health.

Dr. Oz’s 3 Top Suggestions for Healthy Bones as you Age:

Lift Weights

ps. Just as a sidenote, if you are a menopausal woman, research suggests that weight-bearing exercise can help prevent osteoporosis as well as helping to keep the muscle tone from turning to flab with age.

Keep alcohol and cigarette smoking to a minimum

ps. Moderate alcohol consumption, according to most studies, varies between 1 to 3 drinks per day for women and 2 to 3 drinks for men. However, the best guide for what is moderate for your system is to pay attention to your body and err on the side of caution.

Take Vitamin B3

In addition, Dr. Oz suggests taking vitamins A, C, E and the B Vitamins.

ps. Liquid vitamin supplements are far more easily assimilated than pills or capsules.
