A Surprising Result from Eckhart Tolle Exercise
by Neva J. Howell unless otherwise noted
I am finally reading The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. Like the rest of the world, I was reminded of his work when Oprah decided to invite Ekhart to be part of
her Soul Series. I am so glad she took that step and that he responded by participating. It may well be the most focused and solid gridline that has been established in years, for
the continued evolution of the planet toward embodying our Divine Essence in form.
There is an exercise Ekhart Tolle describes in this book. I was very suprised at the result when I did it. I won’t share my results here because I don’t want to add any suggestion as to your outcome.
Here it is simply. Tolle asks that you close your eyes and ponder the following. Say to yourself
“I wonder what my next thought is going to be.”
And then, Ekhart suggests becoming very alert and waiting for the next thought.
He says “Be like a cat watching a mouse hole. What thought is going to come of the mouse hole?”
That’s the entire exercise. I bet you may be as surpised as I was by what happens.
