Cat Flu Symptoms and Remedies
Not sure if you cat has the flu?
Here are some common symptoms
of feline flu (most commonly caused
by two viruses, Feline Calicivirus and
Feline Herpes Virus-1):
Frequent sneezing
Swollen, red eyes
Eyes with noticable discharge
Nasal congestion
Loss of appetite
Ulcerations on mouth or tongue
Joint pain causing limping
Cats with flu have fever too but
since most people don’t often
check how hot their cat feels,
sometimes a vet has to determine
if they have a fever. The other
symptoms are much more noticable
to the alert cat lover.
Most cat flu is caused by two
viruses, Feline Calicivirus (FCV)
or Feline Herpes Virus-1 (FHV-1)
See your vet for proper diagnosis.
