Question on Spiritual Healing:
How do I keep from being sucked into the energy field of negative people? People at work come up to me and start sharing all this negative stuff and I don’t know how to keep it from effecting me and making me feel negative too. Do you have any advice on how to cope with negative people?

Healing Facilitation Response:
First I’d recommend exchanging the word “negative” for the word “different” which should help take the emotional charge of resistance away from the person who is speaking.

Then, I’d find something beautiful and focus on that for a moment or two. Beauty is all around us, in the color of a dress someone is wearing, the smile of a child, the green of a plant in the room, the design in the carpet, etc. You can probably even find something beautiful about the person who is speaking in a different vibration that you are sensing to be negative.

Maybe it’s the color of their eyes, the shape of their nose, the graceful way they express with their hands, the color or sheen of their hair, etc.

By shifting focus to a thing of beauty, we remember who we really are and reconnect to what really matters most.

Taking a few deep breaths while shifting to beauty helps us release our resistance to the person and their words and also helps to release our judgments and feelings about it.

There’s an old saying that goes something like this:

If you convince me
And I convince you
Wouldn’t we still have
Different points of view?

You are not likely to shift a person who wants to be in a lower bandwidth of experience through words or resisting them. However, by focusing on beauty and remembering to breathe, you offer the opportunity for another, higher resonance to come into the conversation.
