11:11 – The Movie
I recently met, via email, a writer/producer/director named Meg Lansaw. I found Meg, and learned about her ambitious film, 11:11, thru this new and innovative website called Kickstarter. You can join Kickstarter and invest, very inexpensively, in projects that appeal to you. Rewards are offered by the filmmakers, to those who choose to invest. For me, however, there’s a better reason to do this.
Circumventing the financially crippling studio approach to making feature films, grassroots producers and directors can now raise funds online.
Anyway, you can check out kickstarter via the link to the information about Meg Lansaw’s film 11:11, listed below.
Here’s what Meg has to say about 11:11
I’ve been seeing the time after not looking at a clock for hours for over 15 years. I started writing the script 8 years ago based on an idea I had for an ending to the film. The concept of the film is about the importance of timing and how the decisions you make essentially determine your outcome. Everyone is intertwined in the world; it’s just a matter of time before we cross paths. Since this an ensemble piece, no one character is more important that the other and all have a purpose in the overall puzzle.
My belief is that seeing the time “11:11” is a reminder that my life is on track and I’m heading in the right direction. It’s been a wonderful reminder during the writing process that I’m on my path! I have posted many ‘coincidental’ occurrences that have happened over the course of the development process in the updates page if you would like to read more. My film is not “spiritual” in the sense that it’s about angels or the supernatural, but more about the cycle of life and how time is the one thing we can’t control. However, the clock is the one constant in all of our lives and is interesting to explore where individuals are in that one minute of time.
I did not realize until several years into writing that 11:11 is a universal phenomenon. I have purposely not read a lot about the philosophies and views of other’s regarding this. “11:11” has personal significance to everyone and I did not want other’s opinions to alter my original vision. There was a reason this story birthed in my head. I don’t know why, but I’ve spent the last eight years fighting to get this thing made…feeling in some odd way that this is my purpose.
